क्या तुम

 क्या तुम कभी मेरी 

सुबह का हिस्सा बन पाओगे 

जल्दी- जल्दी तैयार होते 

मेरे अदना सवाल सुन पाओगे 

वो चाय की चुस्कियों के बीच की खामोशियाँ 

उनमें छिपी हज़ार बातों में अपनी आवाज़ मिलाओगे 

 क्या तुम कभी मेरी 

सुबह का हिस्सा बन पाओगे ?

चलो, सुबह तो व्यस्त होती हैं 

शामों के बारे में सोचना 

थक कर लौटते हो जब 

घर के बारे में सोचना 

घर की सारी बातें बेमानी नहीं होती 

सच है, ये बातें रूमानी नहीं होती 

फिर भी होती हैं  जिन्दगी का अहम् हिस्सा

क्या कभी तुम मेरी घरेलु बातें सुन पाओगे ?

क्या कभी तुम मेरी जिन्दगी का हिस्सा बन पाओगे ?

मंज़िल

 क्या होगा जो मंज़िल पे पहुँच गिर जाओगे ?

अपनी मेहनत का कुछ भी नहीं पाओगे l

गुज़र जायेगा परीक्षा का समय 

ऐसे भी , वैसे भी 

जो अपनी जान लगाओगे

तो बाद में नहीं पछताओगे 

कौन जाने तुम क्या हो? 

तुम भी क्या जानो 

मौका मिले तो 

तुम क्या कुछ कर जाओगे 

तुम बने अपनी मेहनत के बल पर 

अडिग रखो इस विश्वास को 

खुद पर रखोगे संशय 

तो बिन ठोकर गिर जाओगे 

दुनिया तो हँसेगी ही 

ऐसे भी और वैसे भी 

तुम हारे तो तुम पर 

और जीते तो तुम संग 

क्या होगा जो मंज़िल पे पहुँच गिर जाओगे ?

Business of life

 There is no place 

for beggars to sit

In BIG cities-

They sit everywhere

Anywhere

Encroaching upon land 

And life- they are trapped in.

There is no place 

for people to walk in BIG cities-

They take bus or drive cars

or simply stay at home

Or simpler-

walk and die in accidents.

There is no place 

for kids to play 

in BIG cities

They remain at home

playing virtually or virtually playing

with X-boxes or computers,

for parents are out to earn.

 And grandparents in the village

to look after home and hearth .

As it was when they started 

their life as parents

so as to say 

when they started their business of life.
